A few for the road
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.
I hope if dogs ever take over the world, and they chose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
Deep Thoughts...and painful laughter

........................Wow! I honestly forgot how funny some deep thoughts were, and when we gathered to celebrate my 27th birthday party I didn't know was I was getting us into by telling everybody to come with their favorite deep thought. It was hilarious...as Blake James and Brian Hale traded off reading some of the most far-out and yet knee-slapping deep thoughts, the rest of us were on the floor.
It was great.
So yes, I am now 27, or as the Romanians would phrase it, "I have 27 years". Alongside my family and dearest friends we ate, we laughed, we had our cake too, and then we watched Jack Bauer take on the world.

LIFE Reunion...it's been a while!
..............................We didn't actually attend a 25 year reunion; I mean, I wasn't that much of a child prodigy to have got my college degree at age 2. However, we did recently have the opportunity to attend my 5 year LIFE Pacific College reunion. We had a great time seeing old colleagues and professors.
...........................We enjoyed watching the first basketball game of the season where LIFE Pacific College lost to Southwestern at their homecoming. The campus looks absolutely beautiful as always, and as we walked the campus and passed by old "study spots" I reminissed about old times and wished I could just go back and be a part of the "Bible College" experience again.

Breathing Clovis Air

..................Hey everybody!
Well, here we are. We are breathing good old Clovis air again and working hard. Emma and I both got hired full-time at San Joaquin Valley Farms for three of the four months that we are here. She works in the office answering phones, filing and doing other exciting office work. I'm working on inventory control at the plant where the pistachios and almonds are received, processed, stored, roasted, packaged and shipped. It's pretty fun!
We appreciate those of you who have been praying for us and for God's work in Romania. We are planning on flying back to Romania on April 14th. We have begun to raise money for the van that we need for our intern program. If you have any ideas for fundraising, or would like to help us fundraise in any way, please let us know. You can email us at chad.and.emma@gmail.com
God bless you!

Godparents: that's a first!

Emma and I were asked recently to be "Godparents" for our good friends and recent intern graduates, Nicu and Claudia Carstea.
Here in Romania, every couple chooses another couple that they are very close to, to be their godparents. The role of the godparents is to first be witnesses at the civil wedding ceremony. But they are also looked to for advice and support throughout the years of the couple's marriage. We are so honored to be godparents for this wonderful couple.
